The DLSUMC Department of Surgery was founded in 1988. It is committed to uplifting the welfare of its patients in need by regularly conducting in-house missions including thyroid missions, anal missions, breast cancer missions, and hernia missions.
It continuously strives to produce competent surgeons through a fully accredited five-year Residency Training Program
governed by the Philippine Society of General Surgeons, Inc. Over the years, it has produced surgeons who have excelled in their fields, locally and internationally.
Equipped with advanced surgical technology, it takes pride in improving cancer diagnosis through its Breast Care Clinic.
It performs vacuum-assisted breast biopsy, ultrasound-guided core-needle biopsy, and fine-needle aspiration biopsy and drainage procedure.
